Moses and the Transfiguration

According to Jewish legend a Rabbi called Simeon,

was once forced to live in a cave for 12 years because of his outspoken criticism of the Roman occupation.

Rabbi Simeon, during this enforced time of hiding,

entered into a period of intense religious study and when at length he emerged from his seclusion he had reached such a sublime degree of spirituality that initially he could not tolerate the sight of simple people going about their daily activities. 

 
How precious is life? The Great Euthanasia debate.

Are we the people most to be pitied?

Do we believe in something ridiculous, something preposterous?

Do we believe in life after death when no such a reality exists?

Ethnic Rivalry Vs God's Love

Earlier this week as many as 150 Croatian and Serbian supporters were ejected

from the Melbourne Tennis Open. 

The young men who were ejected, carried within them powerful and ancient stories

of revenge, of oppression and of blood.

Earlier the week before, a small group of Sudanese men were engaged in a minor brawl in the City of Dandenong, they too carry within them ancient stories,

 

 

 

 
Accepting Spiritual Gifts

St John of the Cross the ancient christian mystic once wrote,

that if you felt that you had been blessed with the presence of God

it was best to ignore it and to hope that it would go away.
